Since 2017, CMIPD medical professionals from a range of specialties have visited University College Hospital, Ibadan, to conduct seminars, workshops, grand rounds, clinical training, joint operations and consultations.
The November 2019 visit included equipment assessment, professional education, clinical collaboration and capacity-building work across several departments.

Departmental collaboration
Obstetrics and gynaecology
The gynaecology team, led by Dr Kunle Ajayi, assessed the cervical cytology and colposcopy room, the diagnostic laparoscopy room, the laparoscopic stack in the main theatre and the labour ward. The team provided recommendations based on the equipment and service needs identified.
Surgery
The Department of Surgery hosted a two-day lecture series on multidisciplinary cancer management and breast reconstruction and aesthetics. Consultants, surgical residents and the head of plastic surgery participated. CMIPD also agreed to explore an exchange programme for residents seeking exposure to reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in the United Kingdom.
Oncology
A team from the British Nigerian Oncology Group worked with CMIPD and the oncology unit. The team reviewed services and equipment and engaged with multidisciplinary teams involved in cancer care.
